Hi everyone! My name's Rafa. 

Drawing has been my go-to option for anything difficult that I have faced in life since childhood. There is just so much joy in working with colors and learning new techniques on your own. The victorious feeling you get from finishing an artwork after working long hours is absolutely priceless. Most importantly, this is a medium that allows maximum freedom of self-expression.

My love for surrealism has a lot to do with my favorite artist Miles Johnston, who continues to inspire me endlessly. I am also fascinated by the works of M.C. Escher and horror-manga artist Junji Ito. I like listening to The Weatherman by Gregory Alan Isakov when I am working on my drawings. Janis Joplin, Sibyll Baier, The Decemberists, and Radiohead are my regular companions as well.

Apart from art, most of my time goes into the subject I am majoring in - Computer Science. Balancing between studies and drawing is a hectic task, and I won't lie, even though I don't hate what I study, there's a part of me that wishes that I could pursue art full-time. Art seems to be the only place where everything flows out naturally, where there's no worldly stress to overwhelm me. I hope someday that wish will become true.
